The media could not be loaded. I liked this design because of the overhanging roof which keeps rain from washing out the suet. The base keeps crumbs available to the birds. The vinyl coated wire should keep it from rusting. The base also has drain holes which is a nice consideration. All in all the birds love it (I chose the suet with insects to hopefull attract Northern Towhees). The only thing I didn’t know from the description was that these are intended for the larger suet cakes which I’ve never seen. So, I had to double up two cakes to make it stand reasonably. I may have to rig some foam between the cakes to keep them pushed outward as they’re eaten. Overall an excellent suet feeder that I’m pleased with.

I didn’t realize that regular suet will not fill this feeder. Also, regular size suet just flops around inside.. The chain is very difficult to get through the holes to open and shut the roof.

This feeder is rare as most suet feeders do not have a base. The base helps stop the excess drop down on my patio. The little roof makes it very trying for the occasional crow who has to practically stand on his head to access it.

I got this suet feeder since I wanted a covered one for our deck and I could also get suet from the same seller. I was not expecting the feeder to be so big! I hadn’t looked at the measurements in the pic & description so I was surprised to receive such a big feeder. The good news is that I have a ton of suet cakes and this feeder holds 4 cakes perfectly, so I don’t need to fill it as often. And the birds are happy too!

It works great other than the chain. Its too loose to hang so had to put a wire on it.

I love how easy this feeder is to fill with suet and seed bricks. It is very sturday and super easy to clean as well. The squirrels seem to leave it alone for some reason too - which is a HUGE bonus for me and the birds!
